An innovative school project constructed via the Skanska Partnership in Bristol has utilized high performance gas boilers and plate heat exchangers from Stokvis Energy Systems, as part of a sustainable and practical solution to an educational establishment’s needs.
The
The Project Manager for Skanska, Andy Barlow, takes up the account saying: “the school has been equipped with a biomass boiler sized to provide 600 kW of its 1200 kW requirement for heat and hot water. In addition to this we chose two of the Stokvis Econoflame boilers as the conventional part of the package, along with some other of the manufacturer’s equipment, on the basis of the build quality, reliability and our past experience of working with the company.
“The boilers have been commissioned and working without any problems since the start of the current academic year.” The pair of 657 kW Econoflame boilers have been installed so that they are able to take all the load if the biomass boiler is being serviced, and themselves share the duty to reduce wear. Two Stokvis Econoplate plate heat exchangers are also used to meet the academy’s high demand for domestic hot water, being consumed in the washrooms, changing rooms and for food production.
